Thermal management is the single most important factor determining the lifetime of high-power laser diodes. At our state-of-the-art facilities, we employ two primary cooling pathways to maintain diode junction temperatures within strict operating limits:

  • Micro-Channel Cooler (MCC) Technology: MCC relies on copper heat sinks with micro-etched channels (often less than 100 microns wide) directly beneath the diode bars. The water flows inside these micro-passages, delivering an extremely high heat transfer coefficient. This allows manufacturers to drive the diode bars at maximum currents for maximum optical output. MCC technology is the primary architecture used in 1200W, 1600W, and 2400W hair removal handle repairs where size and thermal density are highly constrained.
  • Macro-Channel Cooling (HSW/Hard Solder Water Cooled): For high-power setups like our 3500W 70-bar systems, macro-channel cooling is employed.
